Cardio vs strength training: do you have to choose?

TrainTransformThrive

Cardio trains your heart and lungs and builds stamina. Strength training builds muscle and the ability to handle load. They support each other.

If your goal is general fitness, include both each week. If you want to build muscle, keep strength as the priority and add cardio for conditioning. If stamina is the goal, make cardio the base and keep two short strength sessions.

The best split is one you can repeat for months. Start simple and adjust as your routine settles.

General information, not medical advice. If you have a health condition, speak to your doctor before starting a new routine.
